Not sure whether I'd have the courage to implement it though. There is the possibility that someone may write an unofficially modified piece of firmware. Unfortunately, they've stated they have no immediate plans to support M2TS files. Click the right-side format image to open the output format list. Click the center + button to import or drag your unsupported video into the converter interface. My ideal solution would be a future Samsung firmware upgrade. Launch HD Video Converter Factory Pro and enter the Converter module. The research I've done indicates this is true for their Blu-ray players, not sure with their TVs (even though I won't be buying one), untrue for their PS3 which will play these files. I received a message from Sony last night stating they have no products that will play M2TS files via a cable. I wasn't aware of the Panasonic Blu-ray player option. You've mis-read my post, my Blu-ray reservation wasn't to do with the cost of the players, but of discs.

Senu - The WD media player doesn't play M2TS files. I think it's needless to convert video files, much better to keep the original quality, save hours/days of on-going wasted time and find a way of playing them directly. The last thing I want to do is to convert them, plus I'd have to buy another large hard drive to store the copies. I have c.600GB of M2TS files and increasing. I'd rather keep the files in their original format - Conversion at best may keep the original quality. I've tried several conversion software - They're all slow (I have a very quick PC), as is any AVCHD conversion software.Ģ. Jlearmonth - There are several reasons why I'd prefer to avoid convert & burn:ġ.
